COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (Sept. 3, 2010) – Ben Wagoner picked up his second career win with the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders on Friday night at the CJ Speedway in Columbus Junction, Iowa.  The win came aboard the Wagoner Farms #84, as he led the distance for the $1,200 prize.
Things got off to a rocky start for several competitors.  With a failed mount in hot laps, Kaley Gharst jumped aboard Mark Tischer’s sprint car to finish the night.  Feature pole-sitter, Bobby Mincer, could not start the event.  Tim Moore tangled with another car in the 4-wide parade lap, ending his night, and Russ Hall was done before a lap could be completed as well.

Three automatic claims dropped from format at IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

BOONE, Iowa (July 26, 2010) – Winners of Modified, Stock Car and Hobby Stock main events on Saturday night at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals will see their engines sold at public auction in the infield at Boone Speedway again this September.
The same won’t be true for second, third and fourth place finishers in the evening’s Modified feature.
Instead, those drivers’ engines will be subject to claim by any other driver in the main event field eligible to do so.
“The idea of an automatic claim for these finishing positions has run its course,” said IMCA Vice President of Operations Brett Root. “If other feature qualifiers think the drivers who finished second, third or fourth did so by outspending them, they will still have the chance to claim.”
