DONNELLSON, Iowa (July 30, 2010) – With added money in the purse and lap money on the line 27 IMCA Sport Mods signed in to compete for the Steve Kirchner Memorial at Lee County Speedway, Friday.
Dylan Book drew the pole and led the first six laps, before eventual race winner Josh Sherbon got around him to complete lap 7 with the lead. It wasn’t over yet, however, as a group of cautions allowed Book to size up Sherbon for the final restart.
As the field came to a restart for a green-white-checkered finish, Book guessed nearly perfectly and took Sherbon’s inside into turn one and led lap 19. Sherbon did not give up though and retook the lead on the final circuit, winning by a comfortable two car lengths at the stripe. Mike Shelton finished third, while Derek Coleman was fourth and Mitch Higdon was fifth.

DONNELLSON, Iowa (July 9, 2010) – Ben Wagoner made it a sweep on Friday night at the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa with the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders. The Emden, Illinois native took the checkers first in his heat, the dash and the main event to collect his first career Sprint Invaders win.
Russ Hall took command in the early going of the 25-lap feature paying $1,200 to the winner. Hall’s lead put three lapped cars between himself and Wagoner at one point. The 3/8 mile oval was dry-slick early in the night and started to collect a good deal of rubber. Jake Blackhurst, who became an alternate for the event when Seth Wilke could not start and Mike Houseman Jr. did not make the call, flipped wildly in turn two with ten laps in the books. Wagoner gets first career Sprint Car win
By Dewain Hulett

DONNELLSON, Iowa (July 9, 2010) – The annual Lee County Fair week meant a return of the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders to the Lee County Speedway, as the fair played host to an abbreviated night of racing.
Joining the Sprint Invaders were the Lee County Speedway regulars, Miller Lite IMCA Modifieds and Donnellson Tire Hobby Stocks.
It may have been a different type of race night, but it was business as usual in front of the two weekly classes at Lee County Speedway as Josh Foster (Modifieds) and Jake Wenig (Hobby Stocks) each found their way back to victory lane.
The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders saw Ben Wagoner get his first career Sprint Car win, as the series’ 2009 Rookie of the Year picked up the win. On a track that started to take rubber, Wagoner did everything a driver isn’t supposed to do, except win. He pitched the car sideways, spun and smoked the tires and made the winning pass on the outside! It worked out great for the young Emden, Ill., driver as he pulled away out front easily even after facing a late race restart with just three laps to go. Russ Hall ran second in the feature event after leading the early stages of the race.
