Burgtorf banks $3,000 at Quincy Deery show

QUINCY, Ill. (Sept. 3, 2010) – Mark Burgtorf laid claim to his ninth IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series win at Quincy Raceways on Friday, September 3. Burgtorf started outside the front row of the 40 lap main event and jumped into the lead at the drop of the green flag and held off Joey Gower, then Charlie McKenna and then Ray Guss, Jr., to take his 26th Deery Brothers main event win, second only to Jeff Aikey who has 54. Guss gave a valiant chase to Burgtorf and had a shot at taking the lead away on two separate occasions but Burgtorf maintained his position on both times to take the $3000 payday. Guss settled for second, followed by Denny Woodworth in third, Rob Toland in fourth and Mark Preston in fifth. Jeff Aikey, Joey Gower, Terry Neal and Jay Johnson scored the checkered flags in the heat races with Andy Eckrich and Billy Genenbacher taking the wins in the B-Mains.

King of the Hill makes debut at Quincy Raceways

QUINCY, Ill. (Sept. 5, 2010) – A new event, the King of the Hill Front Row Challenge saw a lot of action and some inspired drives to the front of the field in its inaugural debut.
Jason Perry won both his qualifying heat and the King of the Hill main event in the IMCA Late Models and took the Front Row Challenge to race for 50% more winnings if he could conquer the A-main starting field. Denny Woodworth set fast time to get the $100 fast time award and used his front row starting spot in the main event to good use. Jason Perry chose to go to tail end of the field. Woodworth and Justin Reed put on the show at the front of the field as the pulled away to a serious gap back to the rest of the field. Woodworth took the checkered flag one and three quarter seconds ahead of Reed with Jason Perry rallying through the field to claim third ahead of Mark Burgtorf and Joey Gower. Gower and Perry claimed the two KOH qualifying heats. Denny Woodworth made it a very productive night as he also won the Summy Tire and Late Model Trophy Dash Finale over Mark Burgtorf, Justin Reed, Jason Perry and Joey Gower. Woodworth’s total winning for the night was a whopping $1700. Perry picked up an extra $100 by taking the KOH Front Row Challenge and not winning the main event.

Track champions crowned at Quincy Raceways

QUINCY, Ill. (Aug. 29, 2010) – Jason Perry, Steven DeLonjay, Terry Houston and Steve Carlin all picked up the Season Championship feature event wins at Quincy Raceways during TnT Action Sports Harley Davidson Night at the Races with Denny Woodworth, Jared Schlipman, Terry Houston and Steve Carlin being crowned the 2010 Quincy Raceways Track Champions in their respective divisions.
Denny Woodworth shared the front row of the Budweiser IMCA Late Model Season Championship feature event with his closest point’s rival, Jason Perry and it was Perry who came out on top of the battle but Woodworth came out of the war with his first ever IMCA Late Model Track Championship. Perry cruised away from the field with Woodworth holding off the rest of the field for the second position at the end of the thirty lap main event. Justin Reed scored third, followed by Keith Pratt in fourth and Joey Gower in fifth. Pratt and Gower shared the heat race wins with Dustin Neese scoring the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash. Woodworth second place finish wrapped up the point’s title by 8 markers over Perry in the final rundown.

Reed, Long, Brocksieck, Brown & Johnson take feature event wins at Quincy

QUINCY,  ILL.  (Aug, 22, 2010)  -  Justin Reed, Michael Long, Aaron Brocksieck, Jim Brown and Braden Johnson all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday August 22 during Best Buy of Quincy Night at the Races. Justin Reed tried to make up some points ground on Denny Woodworth in the chase to either drivers first Budweiser IMCA Late Model Track Championship as the points racing season is coming to a quick close.

Quincy Raceways extends 2010 race season

QUINCY, Ill. (Aug. 18, 2010) – Quincy Raceways owners, Tony Rhinberger and Paul Holtschlag have announced the extension of the 2010 race season. In an effort to make up some of the race nights that were cancelled due to weather conditions earlier in the year the race season has been extended into the middle of October. All Season Grandstand and Pit Passes will be good for any of the events listed on the following schedule.

Pratt scores big IMCA late model win at Quincy

QUINCY,Ill (August 15, 2010) – Keith Pratt, Steven DeLonjay, Terry Houston, Jim Brown and Dustin Griffin all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday, August 15 during Albertson Auto Body & Mark Twain Casino Fan Appreciation Night.
Keith Pratt came from his third row starting spot to take over the lead of the thirty lap Budweiser IMCA Late Model feature event on the sixth lap and put on quite a show in dominating throughout the remaining laps. Pratt’s victory margin was almost six seconds which is about a third of a lap.
The action was fast and furious for the rest of the field as Joey Gower claimed the second spot with point’s leader, Denny Woodworth in third, Jason Perry in fourth and Billy Genenbacher in fifth. Justin Reed and Woodworth scored the heat race win while Gower took the victory in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash Series. Denny Woodworth strengthened his grasp on the points lead, now holding an eight point advantage over Jason Perry in his quest for his first ever Budweiser IMCA Late Model Track Championship.

Woodworth solidifies Quincy Raceways points lead with victory

QUINCY, Ill. (August 8, 2010) – Denny Woodworth, Michael Long, Steve Steinkuhler, Steve Carlin and Logan Moody all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday August 8, 2010 during Budweiser Rinella Distributing and Noxin Trucking Night at the Races.
Denny Woodworth used a lot of patience and a little luck to pick up his third Budweiser IMCA Late Model feature event win this season.
Woodworth started the A Main in the fifth row and steadily worked his way to challenge Dustin Griffin for the top spot on the fifth teen lap. Woodworth blasted past Griffin on the high side of turn two on lap 16 and held off the challenges of Jason Perry over the closing laps to cement the win. Perry settled for the second spot followed by Keith Pratt in third, Griffin in fourth and Billy Genenbacher in fifth.

Perry takes Quincy Raceways Late Model honors

QUINCY, Ill. (August 1, 2010) – Jason Perry, Michael Long, Abe Huls and Bobby Anders all took home feature event wins during the Advance Trading & Heetco Night at the Races on Sunday August 1 at Quincy Raceways. After being rained out for two consecutive weeks leading up to Sunday night, Quincy Raceways was able to finally get a race night in the books even if track conditions were not the very best.
Rookie Justin Jennings jumped into the lead of the Budweiser IMCA Late Model Feature event at the drop of the green flag but only held onto the lead for one lap as Dustin Neese charged by to grab the lead on the second go round. Neese held Keith Pratt back in second followed by Perry until the Perry powered around Pratt for the second spot on lap eighteen.

QCS still a go – Quincy, Shepp’s cancelled today, July 25

LOMAX, Ill. (July 25, 2010) – Both tracks in the south end of the Tri-State Speed Review coverage area have cancelled do to heavy rain they received yesterday evening.
Quincy Raceways and Shepp’s Speedway have cancelled their racing events for the evening. Both will return to racing action next Sunday night.
At this time, Quad City Speedway is still scheduled to hold their weekly racing event. Call QCS at 309-792-5030 for more information.

Quincy cancelled for today, July 18

QUINCY, Ill. (July 18, 2010) – Quincy Raceways has cancelled tonight’s racing activities. According to Jack Walbring, from Quincy Raceways, morning rainings have left the track and pit area unable to be race ready for this evening. Racing action will return to the 1/4 mile bullring next Sunday night.
