MACOMB, Ill. (July 17, 2010) – When you’ve won two in a row you’re confidence should be pretty high, which makes it pretty tough on the rest of the field when you draw the pole for your attempt at number three!
That’s exactly what Steven DeLonjay did, Saturday, and he used it to run away to his third straight A-Mod feature win at Spring Creek Speedway.
In keeping with the theme, Jerry Ostby had to work for his win a bit, but nonetheless pulled away to take his second straight 4-Cylinder win easily.
Levi Long picked up the hardest fought feature win of the evening, in what turned out to be the best race of the night. The Street Stocks feature went green-to-checkered with three lead changes. Long passed Josh Smith midway through the event, after passing Rudy Oleberg for second, and cruised to the win. Oleberg would later move to second, while Smith held on for third.
Cautions and craziness followed the Micros feature throughout, but Johnny Huddleston avoided most of it en route to the win. Katelyn Miller who has really gotten faster of late, survived a late race scare and couple bobbles to finish second. Ryan Miller was third.
Todd Bates made a rare Spring Creek Speedway appearance and picked up the feature win in the B-Mods. He was followed across the stripe by 11 year old Jake Griffin. Kelly Bartz was the first weekly regular to cross the stripe, as the current points leader finished third.
