DONNELLSON, Iowa (July 29, 2011) – With family in the stands from Pennsylvania, Ray Raker put together his best race of the season, picking up his first Donnellson Tire Hobby Stock win of the year at Lee County Speedway.
Other winners included Tyler Cale, who picked up his first Budweiser IMCA Modified feature win of the year, David Helenthal, Matt Greiner and Phillip Cossell.
Jake Wenig led early in the Hobby Stock feature, but later broke a lower ball joint while trying to charge back to the front. When Wenig went to the tale, Raker inherited the lead and held off a strong challenge from Dane Fenton. Raker and Fenton made heavy contact coming of turn for to take the white flag, but Raker kept his car straight, while Fenton lost momentum. Raker held on for the win, while Fenton was passed by Dan Wenig, who finished second, Fenton was third.

DONNELLSON, Iowa (July 15, 2011) – Brandon Savage had come close on several occasions but had never been able to close the door on a IMCA Modified win. Friday night, he slammed the door shut with a convincing win at Lee County Speedway.
Other winners included Jim Gillenwater, IMCA Sport Mods; Corey Strothman, IMCA Stock Cars; Jake Wenig, Hobby Stocks and Darin Smith, Wild Things.
Savage, who started fourth in the feature event, followed Rob Kirchner to second place at the drop of the green flag. Kirchner was able to hold off the eventual winner for nine laps, but a great move splitting a lapped car and Kirchner coming off turn two gave Savage the lead. He was never threatened the rest of the way in the win. Josh Foster came from 10th to second, while Dennis LaVeine rounded out the top three.

DONNELLSON, Iowa (July 8, 2011) – California, Missouri’s Randy Martin ended a bit of a drought for himself by picking up $1,200 and the feature event at the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa Friday night.  The event coincided with the Lee County Fair.
Justin Parrish shot out from his pole position to lead the non-stop 25-lap feature early on.  The low side seemed to be quickest early on and saw a multitude of drivers choosing the groove, but Martin was one of the few to try the high side from his fifth starting spot.  Bobby Mincer started outside row one and ran second early on.  Soon he was battling with Martin for the spot, before the latter took the spot on lap eight.

Cayden Carter, Oskaloosa, Iowa, won the IMCA Sport Mods’ $700 prize, while Shane Weller took home the same payday for winning the IMCA Stock feature event.

Dresden, Strothman get first wins, Foster nips Crear at the line
By Dewain Hulett
For Lee County Speedway
DONNELLSON, Iowa (June 24, 2011) – In the last few years Dane Fenton has had a lot of second places finishes and some extremely untimely bad luck that has kept him out of victory lane at Lee County Speedway. Friday, for the first time, none of that happened as he picked up his first career Hobby Stock win on Family Motors and Big Country 103.1 night at the races.
In what turned out to be the best finish of the night Josh Foster picked up another IMCA Modified win, while Rodger Dresden held on for a IMCA Sport Mod win. Corey Strothman was able to close the deal on his first IMCA Stock Car win of the season and David Helenthal won in the Wild Things.

Crear gets first LCS feature victory, Wenig, Helenthal win again
By Dewain Hulett
for the TSSR
DONNELLSON, Iowa (June 17, 2011) – Jeff Mueller did what he’s wanted to do all year at Lee County Speedway, and Dustin Crear did what he’s been trying to do for several years at the 3/8th mile, Friday night.
It was win both the Shottenkirk Parts Express IMCA Sport Mods feature and Miller Lite IMCA Stock Car feature in the same night for Mueller, and win the Budweiser IMCA Modified feature for Crear. They both reached their goals, while Jake Wenig, Donnellson Tire Hobby Stocks, and David Helenthal, Sunline Auto Parts Wild Things, were also feature winners.
The most exciting race of the night came courtesy the Stock Car drivers, especially Corey Strothman, Mueller and Jason Cook. Strothman started out front and led the first 13 laps of the none-stop race. Cook and Mueller both caught Strothman on lap 14, with Mueller making the pass and a little contact as the pair he and Strothman crossed the start-finish line. Strothman jumped the cushion in turn two allowing Mueller to get away and Cook to slide underneath, but the race wasn’t over yet. Cook threw the car deep into turn three and was side-by-side with Mueller off turn four. There was no contact as the pair worked down the front stretch as Cook worked hard to keep his car glued to the bottom of the racetrack, and Mueller used the momentum of the middle groove to take the feature win. Cook settled for second, Strothman was third, while John Oliver, Jr. was third and Aaron Brocksieck was fifth.
